Cavendish Communications joins APPC

The Association of Professional Political Consultants is delighted to welcome into membership Cavendish Communications. The APPC now boasts 54 members – an increase of 16 members since the same time last year, which is an unprecedented growth in numbers in any one year and brings membership to its highest level since records began in 1995.

Cavendish Communications is an independent public affairs and media relations consultancy, founded in 2003, with clients primarily in property and regeneration, retail, transport and environment and the public sector. A small but growing consultancy, it prides itself on providing big-agency experience with small-agency dynamism.

Commenting on Cavendish’s decision to apply for APPC membership, Managing Director and founder Alex Challoner said:

“We have been reviewing membership of the APPC for some time and now feel that Cavendish has reached a stage in its development when it is important to join. Cavendish has always maintained the highest standard of professionalism and there is no better way to demonstrate to current and prospective clients our commitment to best practice than by joining the APPC. We are delighted to become members.”

Commenting on the APPC’s record membership, APPC Chair, Gill Morris, said
“This is a good start to the New Year for the APPC and is testament to our conviction that more and more consultancies recognise the value of our Code of Conduct and want to get on board. It is increasingly important for the industry to demonstrate transparency and an ethical approach; the more members we get signed up, the stronger the industry will be in terms of raising its standards, reputation and public profile.

“The APPC will continue to recruit new members and I hope that all those firms that are not currently members will consider the benefits of the APPC and self-regulation and take the plunge in 2008.”
