APPC becomes 50!

The APPC is delighted to welcome four new members into its membership. This brings the total membership of the APPC to 50 with more potential members on their way.

The new members are:

Citigate Dewe Rogerson
Euro RSCG Apex
New Consensus Communications
Politics Direct

Citigate Dewe Rogerson is a leading international consultancy specialising in financial and corporate communications. It has now established a new public policy business, headed up by Simon Nayyar, previously Vice-Chairman of UK Public Affairs at Edelman and, prior to that, Deputy Managing Director of Citigate Public Affairs.

Simon Nayyar, Managing Director of Public Policy, said:

“Citigate Dewe Rogerson is delighted to be a member of the APPC. We look forward to playing our part within the Association. Citigate Dewe Rogerson Public Policy intends to be a major player in the UK and EU public affairs markets. It is, therefore, important that we abide by, and are seen to abide by, the high professional and ethical standards which APPC membership exemplifies.”

Euro RSCG Apex Communications provides a wide range of communications services to a number of high-profile clients. Founded by former government adviser Ed Owen and experienced senior public affairs consultant Pete Bowyer, Apex began work last year and is part of the third largest marketing communications group in the UK.

Pete Bowyer said:

“We are delighted to be joining the APPC at this time. Maintaining and demonstrating high standards of service are vital to the public affairs sector and we believe that effective self-regulation through the Assocaiton is the best way of achieving this.”

New Consensus Communications is a small consultancy, based in Scotland, recently established by Raymond Boyle, formerly with Weber Shandwick.

Raymond Boyle said

“New Consensus Communications is delighted to have had its membership for the APPC approved and looks forward to making a positive contribution to the excellent work that is already carried out. Belonging to an organisation with the integrity and experience of the APPC is something that all public affairs consultancies should consider as integral to the credibility of their businesses.”

Politics Direct was founded in 1999 by John Arnold and David Beamer to pioneer new ways of delivering a full range of public affairs consultancy by recognising that the public affairs industry will undergo substantial change over the coming years with the development and application of the internet.

APPC Chair, Gill Morris, said

“I am naturally delighted that the APPC has reached a new high. With four new members coming on board I have reached my personal target of a 50 strong membership well in advance of the end of my term as Chair. I am fairly confident that the APPC will continue to grow and achieve 55 if not 60 members in the year ahead. As always, I would urge others to come and join us and consider the benefits of APPC membership at this important time for the industry.”
